Imagine a distant future where humans have colonized the Milky Way, the Local Group, and are beginning to wander into neighboring clusters. They favor some of the latter for being far rich in natural fusion reactors than the meager pack of galaxies where the Sun was born. Stars are the foundation of this post-scarcity civilization, for they not only provide virtually unlimited amounts of energy but an abundance of raw materials to continue their expansion.

DNA manipulation prevented them from branching into multiple species — perhaps leading to wars. They also enhanced themselves to achieve physical and intellectual feats. Combined with Neural interfaces, they exchange thoughts without words in what we call telepathy. In concert with VR technology, it’s possible to have all sorts of interactions, learn new skills, and participate in limitless adventures.
