No pun intended!

I. Never underestimate the power of a good marketing campaign

What comes to your mind when you see that chilled bottle of Coca-cola in the hands of supermodels/actors? They look perfect and seem to be at peak of their health. They take that heavenly sip from that bottle and they instantly look elated and the screen is filled with the most adorable tagline — Open happiness!

This and many such well-crafted campaigns misled common consumers into believing that these sugary beverages are not only okay to consume but are healthy, sort of! The success of these campaigns reflects the brand value of the parent company — As of 2022, it is the highest-valued soft drink at 35bn USD. Moreover, around 200+ soft drink brands ranging from Sprite to DrPeppers are agglomerated under one umbrella. Year-on-year growth in the number of units sold is astounding. For example, last year alone, this company sold around 100,000,000,000 bottles of sugary beverages. Besides, these were all plastic bottles which also makes them the biggest polluter in the world!
