Deep Impact: Movie or Prediction For April 2020
The movie Deep Impact was released on June 24th, 1998, and is lovingly known as a doomsday movie. The subject of the film is the catastrophe surrounding “ELLIE” otherwise known as E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event), a comet the size of Mount Everest heading straight towards Earth.
Coincidently, on June 24th, 1998, information was released regarding 1998 OR2. The similarities are a little too close for comfort on some of the statistics. 1998 )R2 is said to be safely passing by our planet at about 12 LD (Lunar Distance), which means it will be passing by us at about 12 times the distance from our planet to the moon. It was also labeled a Near-Earth Object and a “Potentially Dangerous Asteroid”, NASA has also confirmed that if 1998 OR2 were to collide with Earth it would be an extinction-level event.
E.L.E. was said to have been the size of Mount Everest, and our 1998 OR2 has been reported to be as large as Mount Everest, with more recent reports showing possibly over half the size of Mount Everest due to fragmentation.
In the movie, they kept E.L.E. a secret, to the point that a reporter thought a Senator was having an affair with Ellie, not knowing what E.L.E. was. There were no reports of 1998 OR2, was this coincidence? Did they believe the movie would induce panic or was this mentioned as a warning sign? So soon…
