Conceptually, the human mind only sets graded states, through the interactions of its components and their features.

States [in the mind] become what is known or experienced [to the individual]. All emotions, feelings, memories, sensations, perceptions and regulations so forth are states. Intelligence can be categorized within memory.

One component of mind travels for pickups at destinations. [Or, quantities relay to acquire properties, to degrees].

Properties — like planning, creativity, observation, reward and so forth — as thin shapes, are available in infancy from play, but thicken with nurture.

As nurture provides more properties, they are accessed with the features of the components of mind, in interactions that give off states, changing how relations with internal and external signals are made.

This extended interaction with additional properties of mind, results in what is labeled as intelligence.

Simply, as more properties are available, quantities travel farther, shaping the states the mind gives or what is known or experienced, including what is termed sentience. Sentience is the interaction of the components of the human mind.
