Next Stage for Top Entrepreneurs

There is a whole new breed of entrepreneurs in the world. They are the owners of hugely successful businesses. They are also the greatest social entrepreneurs, focused on really lifting up the rest of society along with them.

The first is Gary Vaynerchuk, who made his Chief Heart Officer Claude Silver the 2nd most important person in his media empire. He is talking a lot about how the most important thing to him when hiring, is how people treat others. And if there is one person spreading cancer in the company and making everyone else miserable, even if he is the #1 sales person he has to go. So they are creating this ego-proof environment where the people working for VaynerMedia can grow and flourish. Then he launched a new wine called EMPATHY, which will hopefully make a lot of us think more about how we treat others.

GaryVee is sure that there is a financial crisis around the corner, and is always urging people to prepare for it. If it was possible to infuse all of society with the values inside his company, we wouldn’t need to go through this next market crash and we could avoid all the suffering. If we had a better grasp of the forces operating on our world, we would be able to bring the world back into balance. Eventually we will figure this out.

The other incredible social entrepreneur I want to talk about is Bob Chapman, the CEO and Chairman of Barry-Wehmiller, a manufacturing company that you’ve probably never heard of. I’ve just finished listening to his podcast with with Kevin Monroe and there is so much to say ….

Mr. Chapman is in the business of caring. He put his company through a very unique transition many years ago when he decided to apply all his parenting skills to his people. This launched an astounding journey that changed the lives of the people working for him, and also impacted their families in a very positive way.

“Some higher power has chosen us to share this message of care.” Bob Chapman

He feels that no one is more powerful than business to bring about a shift in society and is getting his ideology of ‘listening to one another with empathy’ into schools and universities. Mr. Chapman created a giant pocket of positive energy in his own company, and a leadership institute to pass this vital knowledge onto other leaders.

“We never taught people to listen and be empathetic. Being fully present without judgement — schools need to teach this.” Bob Chapman

What’s The Next Stage?

We have these positive pockets of positive energy that are investing in spreading the good energy beyond their environment. At the same time these top entrepreneurs are aware that there is a need to make some significant changes in human behavior everywhere. Not just in the business world, but in life.

Bob Chapman and Simon Sinek are saying, Imagine a society where people think of others first., and Gary has just launched his Empathy Wines brand that has us all thinking about empathy. But how are these top entrepreneurs going to scale things up fast enough to generate the positive shift we need in the world? How can we get the whole world on board with this process of transitioning to a better way of existing here together?

Our world is becoming increasingly interdependent, and before we know it everything will depend on the quality of human connections. Bringing about a new level of unity among people is the key to our sustainability, and will also usher in a new era for humanity. Education is the key but we don’t have time to educate everyone all over again.

“Youngsters can learn how to care for each other. This is how we are called to live on this earth together. We can make a difference — we simply need to care.” Bob Chapman

So here are some suggestions about how we can speed this process up:

  1. Use your influence to feature new messages about how we treat one another in public areas, and on products we come into contact with every day.
  2. Anyone dependent on receiving support from the government can already be receiving this new education, along with military personnel and people in correctional facilities.
  3. Use your power to remove the toxic elements from our kids’ environment — especially violent video games that so many kids are addicted to. Minimize the number of negative examples kids see nowadays.
  4. Invest in ventures that generate positive human behavior, and in gadgets that teach teens empathy. (Ask me for details)
  5. Develop innovative conferencing systems along with a methodology for connecting global teams. (Ask me for details).
  6. Create virtual and real world events for gathering all the people that can help accelerate this process.
  7. Use all available channels to raise the importance of this process. How can we make it more important than the Superbowl where the whole world comes together every year?

We need to immerse all of society in an environment where people are ranked according to how much they do for others, meaning how much they contribute to the whole. In a nutshell, we need to make listening to others and caring for others cool. We need to make empathy cool. This must be a massive worldwide process that will lead to world peace, and to everyone enjoying a far more fulfilling way of life.
