Pinterest for Text

Here’s the idea: Medium should have a section that is “Pinterest for Text”. It would be quite simple: it would allow you to “pin” any text content that you find on the internet… not just content on Medium. People could follow each other just like on Pinterest, and your feed would be little snippets of each article, just like you see on your Medium homepage.

Similar to Pinterest, when you click on an article it gets much bigger and you can then comment on it or highlight it just like you can on Medium. Also similar to Pinterest, a content creator could request that “Pinterest for Text” would take their content down… but most content creators wouldn’t because it’s another great way to get exposure, just as Pinterest provides a great way for images to get exposure (and interest in images leads to interest in recipes, how-to articles, and more).

This would effectively Mediumify most of the internet, as it could be done with the click of a pin.
