In 1993, Vernor Vinge’s article ‘The Coming Technological Singularity’ outlined his vision of the ‘Singularity’. Later, in his 2005 book ‘The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology’, Ray Kurzweil championed and further elaborated on Vernor Vinges’s idea of the ‘Singularity’.
