For decades millions of engineers around the world have scratched their heads as they try to solve climate change and avert the impending disaster. Since then, we have started the electric vehicle revolution, built extensive solar farms and even developed carbon capture machines. But all of these ‘solutions’ have a glaring problem. How do we get the raw materials for all of these miracle contraptions without destroying the environment? Well, Fleet Space may have come up with an elegant solution. But is it enough?

What do I mean by ‘get the raw materials without destroying the environment’? Well, each one of these game-changing technologies has a dirty secret. They heavily rely on horrific mining practices.

Take electric vehicles. The lithium-ion batteries that power them contain rather a lot of cobalt (apart from a select few). Cobalt isn’t a readily available material, so we have to mine intensively for it. This causes a lot of pollution and toxic waste to leach out of these mines, contaminating the local water supply…
