The Fusion Rocket That Could Dominate Interplanetary Travel

Next-gen space propulsion technology could be right around the corner.

SpaceX is set to dominate the private space sector. So much so that their Starship rocket could one day help build a Martian base, and possibly even a Martian city. But in rural England, engineers at Pulsar are tirelessly working away on a spacecraft that will blow Starship out of the water. It will cut travel times to Mars in half and allow humanity to explore ever deeper into the mysterious depths of our Solar System, and maybe even other stars systems. How can they deliver on such a monumental leap in technology? When will this rocket be ready? And should Elon be worried?

Pulsar is an odd company. Its mission is to create commercial fusion power for Europe, but they are going about it backwards. Other companies, like Helion, are building their own reactors, but not so with Pulsar. Instead, they are building plasma thrusters for satellites and their own reusable rocket!

This may seem counterintuitive, but the satellite thruster uses the same technology as magnetic confinement fusion reactors. So, by building…
