As the CEO of ChatGPT creator OpenAI, Sam Altman has become a household name, especially during the recent OpenAI boardroom upheaval. But fewer know that besides AI, Altman has another equally fervent passion.
Earlier this year, Altman invested a substantial $180 million of his own money in Retro Biosciences, a company doing anti-aging cell regeneration. Further, the 38 years old has been taking a pill to slow down aging and extend his own life.
Altman is just one of many Silicon Valley entrepreneurs making a foray into life-extending ventures. The enthusiasm is at least in part fueled by an ambitious outlook advocated by leading anti-aging scientists.
We used to think that with a combination of good genes and a healthy lifestyle, we could have close to or, in rare cases, more than 100 years’ life.
