Venezuela is a country that is situated in South America, and it borders Guyana and Colombia. Venezuela right now is having a grave recession, leading to mass migration. Many Venezuelans are coming over to the US in order to seek amnesty. Venezuela is also currently having an ongoing conflict with Guyana, and American diplomats have been sent to Guyana in order to remediate the problem. The reason we do not want to have a fight between Guyana and Venezuela is because these two countries are economic assets. Currently, Venezuela wants to annex the Essequibo region in Guyana, which makes up at least one-third of Guyana. If Venezuela annexes the Essequibo part of Guyana, then this would be a really big problem for the economy in the US.

Guyana is reacting accordingly, but the nation’s claim on the region has been intensified since 2015, when ExxonMobil found out that there was oil in the Essequibo regions. The Essequibo region is massive, and Guyana has given large percentages of its oil to ExxonMobil. The United States will try to defend Essequibo, and it will most certainly help Guyana defend itself against Venezuela.
