Let’s transport to the year 2030. What we imagined 2030 would look like just a few months ago, has transformed because of this pandemic. What the economy looks like is uncertain, but we can bet on one thing: COVID-19 pushed some technology along faster as it joined in the battle against the virus around the world.

Scientists are working to create new technology for future pandemics. But there is a ton that already exists that’s been developing for years.

From supercomputers like IBM Summit working to identify chemical compounds for cures, vaccines, and other treatments, to Big Data guiding our predictions about future outbreaks. Scientists and the tech industry can capitalize on this moment while our minds are open to change to not only help people but also make us more comfortable with robots and AI.

Many of you might fear the coming revolution where robots and AI take your job. But robots that can do daily tasks already exist. And now, they can save lives.
