Israel has institutionalised a totalising system of violence and dehumanisation in service of its campaign of colonisation. It has infiltrated US foreign and domestic policy to control the international narrative, to provide the funding and military support for colonisation, and it has rendered the US legal system an extension of the Israeli state.

Israel has vigorously paraded a narrative deceit that conflates its existence and future with the violent colonisation of Palestinian land. Internationally, the narrative has been so successful that it cast Palestinian resistance as a proxy for the West’s besiegement by Islamic terrorism and reinforced the existence of Hamas as a continual threat to Israel, with the desired effect of deflecting questions about the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands, and to delegitimise Palestinian self-determination. But more, through continual, aggressive lobbying by Israel’s lobby group AIPAC, the narrative succeeded in creating, in effect, a new reality by capturing the US legal system which systematically discriminates against Palestinians.

Israel pushed the narrative that Hamas is an existential threat while at the same time propping up Hamas financially through Qatar, structurally oppressing Gaza, and promoting violent incremental land seizures in the West Bank — Israel supported Hamas and fueled violent resistance to feed an ongoing deception.
