Which devices are affected by mandatory USB-C?
In the context of the recently approved plan to make USB-C a universal charging connector in the EU, the talk is mainly about mobile phones and the pressure on Apple to remove Lightning from iPhones. However, the regulation agreed by the European Commission, Parliament and Council envisage that almost anything can be charged using USB-C. The directive says, “mobile phones and similar categories or classes of radio equipment”. In the Commission’s proposal, the following are named:
