I am fascinated with the question of immortality. When I was a teenager, I couldn’t imagine living past the ripe old age of 32. But for many thousands of years this question has driven otherwise rational people to build empires, create monuments and attempt to find even the sketchiest religious, magical, medical, and now even virtual escapes from death.
