Anyone that knows the name The Conductor & The Cowboy, knows that it’s been a while since anything was released. If remixes aren’t accounted for, it was 20 years ago to the day (May the 20th, 2000), since ‘Feeling This Way’ entered the national UK chart on #35. Sadly, a follow up never saw the light of day, until now. On the 1st of June, 2020, Premier League Recordings will proudly present the brand new release from The Conductor & The Cowboy, called ‘Sail Away’.

Opportunity
It is not often that an opportunity arises to present a follow up to a real genre classic. Especially not, when a label is still in its infancy. A sequence of coincidental events however, had that exact effect. After Adam Pracy (the producer behind The Conductor & The Cowboy) appeared in an interview on the MuzikXpress YouTube channel and Marco Svarda (founder of Premier League Recordings), being a follower of MuzikXpress, commented on that video, the first connection was made. There then followed a conversation where Marco presented his label to Adam, and Adam played Marco some of the tracks he was working on. They both felt a collaboration could work. This was the foundation of what has now become a return to the scene for Adam, with the release of “Sail Away” in June.

Vision
From the start, it has been the label’s vision to get back to the roots of trance with a more of a retro classic feel to the music. Not by releasing old material, but by incorporating the classic sounds and structures in the releases on Premier League Recordings. While all the tracks have a modern approach to the production process, the way the tracks are built and how they sound is what makes them different from other mainstream releases. Another part of the vision was to sign trance producers from the past. Who would better understand what a modern classic needs, than someone who has been part of the trance scene for over 20 years? Signing a producer like Adam fits perfectly with the label’s vision, and it is a proud moment to present his new release.

Formation
While Adam is still the producer behind The Conductor & The Cowboy, the line up has changed, and now includes, songwriter Rob Howlett and new vocalist Aero (Vaquera). ‘Sail Away’ is the first official original track from The Conductor & The Cowboy released since ‘Feeling This Way’. A follow up was produced, but never was released, after Serious Records was taken over by Universal Music. (More on that in the MuzikXpress video.) After taking a break from music, last year signs of a comeback appeared when Solarstone played out a bootleg remix of Mr. & Mrs. Smith — Gotta Get Loose, by Adam, to a fantastic response at numerous large festivals.

Cover preview of Sail Away, the new release out on June the 1st

2020 marks the year of a full return for The Conductor & The Cowboy, and ‘Sail Away’ will be the first of many new tracks to be released. The track has a great vocal with sing-a-long potential, and comes with an incredible remix from one of the hottest names currently in uplifting trance, Metta & Glyde. Make sure to follow The Conductor & The Cowboy over the coming months, as well as Premier League Recordings. More remixes of ‘Sail Away’ are in the works, and it won’t take another 20 years before ‘Sail Away’ sees an official follow-up.

(Pre-order on Beatport exclusively, available from May the 22nd.)
