Art lovers and collectors tell us that their favourite part of attending an art fair is the opportunity to connect directly with artists; learning more about who they are as people and about the inspiration and process behind their work

That shared storytelling creates a unique bond between artist and patron, fostering a deeper relationship with the artist’s work. Unfortunately, speaking with everyone at these busy events is nearly impossible. We’ve heard from artists many times that a simple way of sharing their story and the story behind their work with more people at their booth would help significantly to increase the ROI on their art fair experience — which is often time-consuming and a source of significant out-of-pocket expense.

We listened, and we came up with a simple solution. Imprimo automatically generates a QR Code for all your artwork. All you need to do is click and print; the rest is automatic.

The QR code directs potential patrons to your artwork record, where they can see multiple images of your work, inquire directly about purchases via our secure messaging system, read the Creation Story to learn more about the inspiration behind your work and your process and follow the life cycle of your work via the Artwork Timeline.

This process builds an in-depth understanding of the value of your work. Imprimo artists who have integrated their physical and digital presences by putting our QR codes to work have seen increased engagement and greater opportunities during exhibitions.

Here’s what our users are saying:

I used the QR codes in my last exhibition at the Palais des Congrès in Montreal, where there were almost 9,000 attendees from all over the world, speaking many different languages. In such a case: the QR saved me the trouble of explaining the works to everyone. They simply scanned the code and learned the whole story.

I also use the QR like a fingerprint (you can’t transfer it, you can’t modify it, and it tells the story of the artist and their work). Currently, when selling any of my paintings, I print the QR code and paste it on the back of the canvas. This way, the story of the painting follows it, no matter how many times it gets passed from one owner to another.

I used QR codes recently for a show and was pleasantly surprised to see viewers activating the QR code, consulting my profile on Imprimo and getting in touch with me right there on the spot.
