Have you ever discovered unauthorized use of your work online?

Don’t be like Modigliani

Modigliani distributed sketches like party favours. He became one of the most famous artists in the world. But he is also one of the most faked.

These days, you use the online space to distribute, exhibit, promote and catalogue your work. Its importance to your ability to showcase your art, make connections and be discovered continues to grow.

But the online space also carries risk. Your work can be copied or reproduced without your consent, and infringements on your rights as creator can be difficult to contain.

What can I do to protect my work?

Well, unlike Modigliani, you can sign it! Also unlike Modigliani, you have the option to do this digitally.

OK, so what’s a digital signature?

An Imprimo digital signature is not a scan of your autograph. It’s a code unique to you that’s created on your behalf when you register with Imprimo. When you upload a work to Imprimo and claim it, we record this action as a tamper-resistant timestamp on a decentralized database.

It proves you are the creator of a work.

How would I use it?

When a gallerist or curator is interested in your work, your digital signature proves it to be yours. This gives the interested party confidence and adds value.

If an unlicensed reproduction of your work comes to light, your digital signature is one of the many verified storytelling tools on Imprimo — including Certificates of Creation, Living CV and Timelines — that protects you.

When can I try it?

We’re launching March 28.

Imprimo uses storytelling about your artworks and your career to protect your creative rights.
