PreSeries predictive algorithms crawl the web hungry for startup information. So far, almost 400k companies have been ruthlessly processed, scored, and ranked. Come witness PreSeries’ Machine Learning algorithms score 4 promising startups live on stage at the 8th AI Startup Battle at PAPIs Europe (London, April 5). The winner will go home with a £100,000 investment from AI Seed, a London-based VC fund.

Good investments make good investors, but quick investment decisions make great investors. Being able to act quickly on an opportunity is today more important than even before. And the place where startup investors usually don’t have much time to assess potential investments are startup competitions! For this very reason, 3 years ago, we launched a series of unique startup competitions to put our PreSeries’ AI to the test. We call our events the AI Startup Battles and they’ve already been featured in Spain, Brazil and the United States (more on our blog). We replace what would be a traditional “human” jury by PreSeries very own AI (humans need not apply!). Our AI does the job of engaging in live Q&A sessions with the contenders on stage and is able to extract real-time insights thanks to machine learning. Our very talkative AI is able to discuss with the contenders via a customized Amazon Echo present on-stage, making it a very space-efficient jury as it can fit in a small box. Our AI asks the participants a set of questions looking for fact-based insights as well as many other investment and traction related metrics. It imitates human investors in the types of questions it asks but the breadth of information it can access in real-time is unmatched.

Meet our courageous contenders

tensorfight.io

TensorFlight — TensorFlight automatically analyzes satellite, aerial, drone and street view imagery in order to automate slow and expensive manual in-person property inspections. If you are a property insurer TensorFlight can help you with: (1) Underwriting: Automatically pre-fill a quote or suggest items to investigate for an underwriter. (2) Reinsurance: Get more detailed information about each property in a reinsurance policy or gain alpha while trading cat bonds. (3) Risk: Better understand exposure of your portfolio or monitor transient risks. (4) Claims: Estimate catastrophic claim severity.

antiverse.io

Antiverse — Antiverse is developing a technology that predicts antibodies that bind to a given antigen for pharma companies, Contract Research Organisations and antibody manufacturers working in the antibody therapeutics field. We are replacing current lab-based methods for antibody discovery through a combination of the niche cell-free protein synthesis method and cutting-edge machine learning methods to provide a technology that predicts antibodies in silico. The customer provides us with the sequence of an antigen of their choice and we give them the sequences of one or several antibodies that bind the antigen, which presents a time reduction of 3 to 18 months for our customers compared to our competing methods. Several CROs and pharma companies have expressed a strong interest in our technology and we have an active collaboration with Medimmune, the biologics arm of Astra Zeneca. We have a proof of concept model with 95% accuracy, have previously raised a pre-seed round of £70'000 and are now looking to raise funding in order to generate data to expand the model. With our technology we aim to revolutionise the way antibody drugs are discovered in order to greatly accelerate drug discovery to treat cancer, autoimmune diseases and chronic diseases as fast as possible.
