World Women’s and Women’s Entrepreneurship Day

World Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is coming.

And to celebrate I can’t help but talk about some Brazilian women who created actions and business strategies that actually achieved success.

Learn a little of these stories and enjoy to be thrilled!

1 — Luiza Trajano — Magazine Luiza

The first Brazilian on the list when we talk about World Women’s Entrepreneurship Day has to be Luiza Trajano.

But did you know that Magazine Luiza was not founded by her, but by her uncles in 1957?

However, despite the steady growth since the company’s creation, it was the girl who took the business to the rank of one of the best in Brazil in the segment.

Among its strategies were to give voice to employees, who came to participate in all company decisions, which motivated people to act with purpose and dedication.

Another interesting action was the creation of the world’s first e-commerce model by installing multimedia terminals in stores.

This allowed customers to buy products without them being on display or in stock.

Unusual promotions like “Just Tomorrow,” a model in which items sell at a price well below market for a day, are also part of Luiza Trajano’s strategies to leverage Magazine Luiza.

In fact, the company came to top the list of the best to work on research done by Exame Magazine in partnership with the Great Place to Work Institute.

The evaluation method, in fact, is the employees own opinion.

2 — Zica Assis — Natural Beauty Institute

To celebrate World Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, we couldn’t stop talking about Heloísa Assis, better known as Zica Assis.

Carioca and born in a community of Rio de Janeiro, the girl worked as a nanny with only 9 years old and later as a maid and cleaning.

Unsatisfied with the appearance of her curly and difficult-to-tame hair, the businesswoman, who wanted to keep them natural but more beautiful, began looking for good products that would make her life easier.

Only she couldn’t find them in the market.

He decided to take a hairdressing course to create and test some formulas.

And yes, she found the ideal to treat her hair, which caught the attention of friends and acquaintances who had the same goal.

To help these people and many others, Zica joined three partners and set up a beauty salon in 1993, the famous Natural Beauty Institute, which specializes in curly and wavy hair.

With the exclusivity of offering our own and formulated products for these types of yarns, it is clear that the business was successful in a very short time.

Currently the company has 40 units in several Brazilian states.

To give you an idea of the success of the venture, the deal has even taken her to the list of the ten most powerful businesswomen in Brazil according to the American magazine Forbes.

3 — Cleusa Maria — Sweet Sodie

This is another great example of female entrepreneurship in Brazil!

As a child Cleusa Maria da Silva worked as a cold buoy in the interior of Paraná, where she was born.

A few years later she moved to Salto, São Paulo countryside, and acted as a maid.

It turns out that in one of the houses where she worked she made her first cake taking advantage of the confectionery tricks she learned from her employer.

And it seems that she had a special gift for candy, so much so that the businesswoman began to devote herself to this task and soon opened her first cake shop in the neighborhood where she lived.

Thanks to the different flavors and textures that Cleusa offered, the store attracted many customers and started Sodiê Doces, a brand created in honor of her children Sofia and Diego. Yes, the term is the junction of the two names.

Currently the chain has more than 265 stores in 13 Brazilian states and is one of the most remembered in the country in ordering birthday cakes.

November 19 is World Women’s Entrepreneurship Day and it is clear that Brazilian women deserve great attention.

In this article you got to know a little about Luiza Trajano, Maganize Luiza, Zica Assis, from the Beleza Natural Institute, and Cleusa Maria, from Sodiê Doces.

It is obvious that our country has many other successful businesswomen and true inspirations for all of us.
