The Times Of India

This afternoon, confidential files regarding russian and indian cooperation in which the two heads of states openly negotiated the purchase of advanced missile technology by India in response to China’s growing influence in the Indian Ocean were exposed. The Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) spent the 5th session discussing this matter in order to promote a consensus, as stressed by the UN General Secretary.

Two documents were leaked, one regarding an agreement on biological warheads and 35 TBMs (tactical ballistic missiles) and another about a draft of a military agreement, containing the budget both countries would spent in Combined Joint Task Forces against China, if necessary (around 45 billion dollars).

The United States president was the only who has spoken immediately on the case: “Sanctions are coming”. During the session, the representative of China enphasized that this was something big and Kyrgyzstan argued that the following matter was on the agenda.

The Indian and Russian governments, together, declared that the recent
documents reported are not real in any sense. Russia says that sees China as an important ally in its international relations and would not have any reason to make such an agreement. India restates its objectives of maintaining friendly diplomatic relations in Asia and of having as its only military goal the fight against terrorism and piracy. In goodwill, the two countries invite a mission from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and a team from Kyrgyzstan to visit their military ports and facilities and inspect ICBM missiles sold from Russia to India.
