The new UNSC Resolution defines the consolidation of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) as a goal of utmost importance towards stability in the region. The Council also states that International Organizations and NGOs should seek cooperation with the FGS in topics such as military, educational and humanitarian aid.

During the conversations, the will of the UN members to bring peace to the region became clear. Hence, both multilateral and bilateral operations will be performed with the FGS. For instance, China will take part in projects regarding educational improvement, and the NATO is going to lead a training mission to capacitate Somali soldiers.

After years of instability in such a strategic region, the population — and the world — waits for quick action to take place in Somalia. And we, the press, are going to be in touch with this situation aiming to report to the whole world if actual progress will be done.
