Happy Sunday, all! We have added functionality for Mixer! (finally)

Progress this Week

Latest Build

The latest build of Pretzel at the time of this post is: v. 0.0.14 (171)

This means that if you haven’t refreshed your web player or restarted your desktop player in a while it may not work. A quick refresh/restart will get you up to date with the latest version.

Music Updates

  • We’ve re-evaluated how we approach artists who don’t know us. We’re excited about Pretzel. You’re excited about Pretzel (because you’re here reading this). But explaining what we’re doing and why to musicians who aren’t involved in live-streaming can be hard sell.
Give us your music, stranger!
  • That said, we still reached out to and cold emailed about a dozen labels, artists and OST creators, some of whom have scheduled calls for next week.

Technology

  • Mixer works with Pretzel now! Which means we’re tracking “What’s Played Recently” for Mixer streamers now!

Design

  • The new website is basically designed and built. We’re just going through now and re-writing the content to make sure it conveys what we are doing with Pretzel. Writing breif, but meaningful web content is hard yo! It should be live this week and does a much better job of explaining Pretzel to the general public.
When even the 404 Page is missing….

So what’s on for this week?

Once the new website is live and the pitch deck is created, it’s all about implementation of Pretzel Premium. The current version of the Pretzel player is essentially the free version, and we consider it pretty much feature complete, there are of course some things that will make into the free version (like YouTube Gaming support for example). Our website will paint a clearer picture of who we are. Mike, Nate and Evan will be working on account pages/account management/payment processing.

We’ll be working on the subscription user experience and flow of the website interface.

Nate is still working on Braintree integration and the logic that will track and divide royalty payments for our artists.

Noah and Taffy will make sure that our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and artist’s contracts are correctly updated/amended to reflect a change to a subscription service.

Ryan McKay and Taffy are going to kick back into high artist recruitment gear armed with the new pitch deck and the promise that rev sharing is coming soon. Who knew people were more likely to talk to you if you offer them money?

See you next week!

If you have a moment, there was a really nice write-up on Pretzel at StreamerSquare! Give it a read, if you have a moment. Be sure to check out the Twitch interactive overlay, if you haven’t already. Sign up for our alpha, follow our Twitter and chat in our Discord. We’ll see you next week!

Cheers,
The Pretzel Team
