An Opal Ring

Originally an apology present from my Grandfather to my Grandmother, my aunt inherited this ruby and opal ring. She wore it everyday for the rest of her life. Upon my aunt’s death I claimed it before an estate sale of her possessions but now find it so heavy with memories I barely wear it.
