My Father’s Cowboy Hat

This was my fathers cowboy hat. He wore it almost everywhere, complete with the turkey feather. Even though he is not here with us anymore my mother keeps it hanging in the front hall of our home, on the hat rack, where hats belong. When I think of my father I think of him wearing this hat and every time I look at it, I smile. My hope is that in the future I get to share my fathers hat with my children, tell them stories of how incredible he was, and have it hang in the front hall of my own home.
