Even if you’re not a big football fan, the Super Bowl is still a must-watch event. And that’s never been more true than it is this year, when Los Angeles’ very own Rams will be playing for the trophy.

Why not host a party for your friends? Here are five tips for throwing an epic Super Bowl bash.

Color Coordinate Your Decorations

Buy everything in team colors. Banners, streamers, football cut-outs, and balloons are always hits, and they can bring some spirit into every room. Gameday pins are another popular accessory to get the guest involved. If you buy pins for both teams, everyone can wear one for whichever team they’re rooting for.

Get Enough Seating

Make sure you have enough space for everyone to sit. Nobody wants to be crowded around, trying to get a glimpse of the game. Count your guest to know exactly on how much tables and chairs you’ll be needing. And, if you don’t have enough, borrow some more. Make sure there are enough seats surrounding the TV for everyone to watch the game comfortably. According to Eastside junior Estevan Martinez, “There always needs to be enough seating at a Super Bowl party.”

Place Bets

The Super Bowl can last up to four hours. A game that long can be a little tedious. A way to keep everyone entertained is with Super Bowl squares or other small bets. These can help make the game exciting.

Load Up On Food

What would a Super Bowl party be without junk food? You’ll already be busy getting this party together, so don’t overthink it. Choose simple classics like wings, fries, and burgers. And be sure to put out some snacks like chips and dip, popcorn, and candy.

Pour The Drinks

“Drinks are an important part of a Super Bowl party,” says Eastside student Sky Peebles. You don’t want your guest going thirsty, so be sure to stock up with a variety of everything. And don’t forget to get a bucket or tub to help keep your drinks cold.
