You’re Starting A New Chapter

Dear Freshmen,

These next four years of high school will begin a new chapter in your life. You should cherish each moment. This isn't just another year of school. This is something big. There are definitely mixed emotions during these high school years, good and bad. But if you pay attention, and don't do anything dumb, it’ll be the best years of your life. Now here is some advice to make your high school experience the best, specifically in your freshmen year.

I read this so many times and it’s honestly helped me pass classes, so I’m going to pass it onto you: don’t procrastinate. Doing your work is the most important thing in freshmen year and in high school. High school will plan, basically, the rest of your life, so it's important to not slack. This means to turn in your work on time, and make sure you meet the standard of any work. Doing assignments isn't even that hard if you just pay attention. Doing your assignments and getting good grades is key to making high school the best experience and having a successful life because, trust me, it will affect your future.

Another thing to keep in mind during high school is friends and relationships. Relationships are great and all, but only if you have time to spend. Being in a relationship can also be stressful that you just don't need right now. If I'm being honest, it's too early for a relationship because you are barely a freshman and you should be worried about your grade. Friends, on the other hand, can be amazing because they can help you in your classes. You guys can do assignments together, and hang during lunch.

Try not to be scared. If you need help with directions or on schoolwork, don't be afraid to ask. The school might seem big, which is what I thought, but in less than a month you'll know every part of the school. Here are some things that might be helpful. The second floor of the school is all rooms with the number 200 and the first floor is all 100s. PE is located inside the gate where the basketball courts are near the vending machines.

And finally, have fun. Like I said, high school will be a new chapter in your life. You are going to look back at it and be amazed. You’ll even want to go back. Participate in clubs and sports, and your freshmen year will be even more fun. And don't forget to relax. Take a look around at the memories you’re making. High school only last four years.
