Ariana Grande has another accomplishment to add to her ever-growing list. The pop singer dropped the much anticipated music video for her hit song “thank you, next” on Nov. 30, and in the process managed to overload the online video platform. Ariana Grande’s newest hit music video “thank u, next” has already reached 50 million views in less than a day. Released in early November, the song quickly debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — a first by a female artist since Adele’s “Hello” in 2015.

She continues to smash the Youtube records as she put out her “thankyou, next” music video this past Friday. “I loved her mean girls inspired theme music video. She really brought up her game since the “sweetener” album” says eastside senior Claudia Ramos. Even celebrities are freaking out over the visual, which is has references to the 2000s flick.

Actress Jennifer Garner was touched by Ariana’s tribute to her “Jenna Rink” 13 going on 30 tribute and shared an instagram post saying “ Every now and then something comes along and just brightens your entire day. Ariana Grande, you are adorable. Thank you, pretty girl.’ So much love!”

This music video caused many conflicts about if the video was supposed to be considered “fun” or “everything that’s wrong with pop culture” Eastside senior Ana Villalpando says, “It’s everything that’s wrong with pop culture. What an overhyped, boring video, The video is kinda cute … It’s the song that’s so whatever. Shows none of the needed artistic growth that she displayed in ‘Sweetener.’
