The K-POP sensation BLACKPINK — consisting of members Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa — took a long break after releasing their popular mini-album, “Square Up,” which included the iconic song, DDU-DU-DDU-DU (뚜두뚜두.)

The group, which a product of YG Entertainment, has been featured on the Billboard Hot 100, ranking as high as #55. Ever since the release of DDU-DU-DDU-DU, BLINKS — the popular term for the band’s most enthusiastic fans — have made thousands of dance covers, remixes, and song covers. The music video has over 700,000,000 views and was on the most-viewed videos in YouTube history during its first 24 hours.

Now they’re back with another song, “Kill This Love,” which is all about how most loving relationships come to an end. The song, like those relationships, turns into absolute chaos by the end.

The music video for Kill This Love currently has more than 140K views on YouTube. In the video, each of the four girls is in a different place. Jennie is in a red-orange area sitting down, singing about how love always has a “hello” and a “goodbye” to it. Lisa raps while in a blue area and wearing glasses. Rosé drives in a car, crying furiously. And Jisoo is in the water, singing in front of a sunset-like backdrop. The choreography captures the themes of killing love quite well.

“The beats are really nice and the vocals are exceptional,” says Eastside freshman Giselle Espinoza. “I think it really fits them.”

BLACKPINK enthusiast Gevgenny Martinez agrees. “I love it so much!” she says. “It’s really amazing and I suggest everyone listens to it.”
