The trash around Eastside’s campus has gotten out of control. To help remind students about the importance of keeping campus clean, administration recently purchased posters to hang around the school. The hope is that students from all grades will begin throwing their garbage into trash cans.

This is the most recent in a long string of efforts to keep Eastside’s campus clean. Administration has done everything they can to help in this effort, including picking up garbage themselves.

Will the posters help them achieve this goal? 63% of EHS students think so.

“These posters are going to help remind students to keep our campus clean,” says Eastside senior Emely Mata. “I would love to see my campus clean. I really don’t think it’s hard for people to put their own trash in the trash.”

Senior Luis Garcia agrees. “People complain about having seagulls poop on them or around them, even in the schools parking lot, but they don’t seagulls gather because of all the food and trash on the ground,” he says. “Having these posters will remind students to throw their trash away.

“Although,” he adds, “staff shouldn’t have to remind you how to have manners.”
