Cheap & Local: Four Places To Go During Spring Break

Spring break is a time where you get to relax for a week. You can always get out of town and go to the beach. But some people don’t have the budget for a day trip or a vacation. If you’re stuck here in the AV, you don’t have to bored during break.

Eastside junior Matthew Retiz says, “During spring break my friends and I just go to each other’s houses and just kick it there and play video games.”

Video games are a great way to stay entertained. But there’s more to break than gaming, scrolling through social media, and binging Netflix.

Here are four local places you can visit during break. They’re fun, they’re close, and they won’t break your budget.

Poppy Fields

The Poppy Fields are a good place to go with your friends. You can go for a walk or maybe even do a photoshoot. It’s free if you don’t use the parking lot.

The BLVD

The BLVD is the perfect place to go to in the evening or at night with a group of friends. There are plenty of shops on the BLVD to go and see. Plus, there are two museums: the art museum and the Western hotel museum. Both are very reasonably priced.

The Movies

Spring break’s a great time to hit up the movies. Plus, there area lot of new movies coming out soon. Tickets usually cost about ten dollars, although they are cheaper if you go in the morning.

The AV Mall

The mall is another spot that is popular during break. You don’t even have to go shopping. You can just walk around, go out to eat, or check out the movies across the parking lot.

“My friends and I just go to the mall and walk around,” says junior Nicklaus Brown. “Sometimes we go to the restaurants around there afterward.”
