Eastside High School has the biggest band in the Antelope Valley. It’s also arguably one of the best. From city parades to school parades, they catch the attention of most people around. And that was especially true during Friday’s pep rally, when the drumline gave two enthusiastic performances.

For some freshmen, this was the first time they’ve been exposed to Eastside’s drumline. Having only been students for two months, most of them have never truly heard what a good band sounds like, let alone a drumline. Yet, they seem to be enjoying it quite a lot.

Kailynne Hollenshed, a freshman student, was asked how she felt about the drumline. “Drumline is one of the best things I’ve experienced so far. The beats are so nice, and they are always in sync,” she tells us.

Will she feel that way once she becomes a senior? Will she get tired of the loud drums? Will she even spare a glance towards the band?

Don’t worry, that’s not the case for this year’s seniors.

“We have the best drumline in the AV, no doubt,” says Eliana Andrade, a senior here at Eastside. “They’re always hyped up and it gets us hyped too, especially during the rallies we have on most Friday’s.”

Make sure you come out at A & B Lunch next Friday to watch our band, cheerleaders, and football team perform.
