Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame premiered in theatres on April 26th, 2019 and broke box office records by netting $1.3 billion within a week. The three-hour-long film left many people in tears. Here are five moments in Endgame that gave us all the feels.

#5: Ant-Man’s Awkwardness

Scott Lang (Ant-Man) offered some comedic relief in the three-hour emotion-fest that was Avengers: Endgame. Because he didn’t understand what the other Avengers went through while stuck in the Quantum Realm, Ant-Man was constantly an outcast to most of the alliances. His clumsiness and stupidity were hilarious.

“Scott Lang was funny throughout the whole Avengers movie,” says junior Matthew Retiz. “Scott is like a kid inside of a grown man’s body.”

#4: Spider-Man’s Jokes

Viewers laughed and admired the jokes said by Spider-Man right after re-appearing during the fight with Thanos. Spider-Man’s jokes always make the audience laugh because they show just how friendly our friendly neighborhood Spiderman is.

#3: Captain America’s Time Travel Romance

Captain America went back in time to place the infinity stones back where they belong but ended up staying in 1945 to live the rest of his life with Peggy Carter. This time-traveling romance was a beautiful ending for these two fan favorites. Fans smiled watching the first Avenger dancing in his living room with his beloved Peggy.

“It made me feel happy that he finally got what he wanted all along,” says Jalynn Jupiter, a junior.

#2: Black Widow’s Bravery

Natasha Romanova (Black Widow) and Clint Barton (Hawkeye) both exhibited great courage when they fought for who should be the one to sacrifice their life for the soul stone. When the fight took an unexpectedly devastating turn, it became obvious that Romanova had to be the one to go, leading her to sacrifice her life so that Barton can live his life with his family. She met this decision with bravery and courage.

Aaron Martinez, a junior, was especially torn up by Black Widow’s sacrifice. “I was so sad to find out one of my favorite characters died,” he says.

#1: Iron Man’s Sacrifice

When Iron Man collected the infinity stones to kill Thanos, Iron Man sacrificed his life to take away that of Thanos. Iron Man’s unexpected sacrificed devastated many fans, drowning them in tears. Watching Peter Parker and Pepper Potts say their goodbyes just added to the sadness.

“It was sad, but it was a satisfying conclusion,” says junior Cole Tanner.” He started the MCU and he was the one who saves it, even if it cost him his life.”
