Eastside High School Student Kobe Wibowo

Eastside High School student Kobe Wibowo is 17 years of age and a senior. He was asked how he felt being a senior student and the school security involving his feelings towards it. His response was, “I feel excited to be almost done with high school, but I also feel disappointed in the school.”

After the school shooting that took place February 14th in Parkland, Florida, Kobe is much more concerned about the security at Eastside. He says, “I still don’t see any increase in security at our school. No armed guards, no metal detectors, nothing.” Knowing these things, he is much more aware as a student and wants to feel safe and secure. He states, “We’re at school to learn, not to worry about dying.”

Kobe wishes for “armed security patrolling the campus.” He continued to say that he, “would feel much safer. And if a deadly threat arises, it can be handled quickly with as few casualties as possible.” As a senior, he wants everyone to be safe. This school year, Kobe wants drastic changes in security to take place for Eastside High School.
