Now that the winter sports season has started, it’s officially time for basketball. The basketball teams have already played a few games and have more coming up soon. And students couldn’t be more excited.

According to a recent poll, 83% of Eastside students are pumped up and ready for basketball season to start.

It’s not just the students who are excited. The players are too.

“It’s exciting,” says one player named James. “Our team is ready to make it to the C.I.F championships.”

“This season is already really exciting,” agrees freshman athlete Dylan Strader. “I can’t wait to play more games.”

“I am very excited,” says varsity player Cassie Story. “Even though we only have six players on our team, we are strong, aggressive and ready to take wins back to back.”

“This team is prepared for anything or anyone coming our way,” she says.

Whether we’re talking about the boy’s or the girl’s team, this season promises to be a good one, thanks to the leadership of the coaching staff. The coaches are pushing the team and making the players work harder, but they are there to support the players in other ways too. James says his coach “is relatable and understands the players.”

If you want to catch an upcoming game, be sure to head to the big gym. You can get in with $5, or it’s free with an ASB card.
