Kaylie-Jade Harley Is Determined To Make Her Family Proud
Kaylie-Jade Harley is currently a sophomore at Eastside.
She’s full of dreams, hopes, and humor. She’s also unique in her love for movies. One of her favorites is Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
Like most teenagers, Kaylie had to face some difficulties. She has a had time speaking up in front of others, especially when it comes to class presentations. But she’s working to overcome that, not just in class but in her personal life as well. She’s not always great at meeting new people or being the center of attention, but she’s learning to express her thoughts and emotions in a positive way.
Her goal is to be able to move somewhere else, perhaps Oregon, and be able to pay back her parents for everything they’ve done for her. She realizes that getting good grades is an important step in achieving that goal.
She started taking school more seriously once her baby brother was born. She knew that she wanted her brother to work hard and be successful, and she knew that she had to set an example for him. Kaylie’s baby brother became her motivation for almost everything she does. She started taking school more seriously and worked on improving herself.
As a black woman, Kaylie is sometimes subjected to rude or inappropriate comments, but she is determined to always face the world armed with positivity. Her friends are a huge support here. She appreciates the way that they can cheer her up or even defend her, and they always know how to make high school fun.
Like many Eastside students, Kaylie is doing her best to grow into the person she’s meant to be.
And she’s doing a great job of it.
