La Michoacana

The Antelope Valley has seen many different kinds of ice cream parlors, but something like La Michoacana was not seen until the past year. The ice cream parlor has proven to be a success and exploded in popularity since it was opened.

Today, La Michoacana still pulls in customers with the Mexican cultured ice cream and other delicious snacks. Customers used to have to drive as afar away as Los Angeles to find food like this, so it’s convenient to get it in the AV.

According to a recent survey, 67% of Eastside High School students have been to La Michoacana. Former Eastside High School student Gilbert Gomez thinks that’s not enough.

“The 33% of students that have not been there are seriously missing out,” he says.

“Their service is pretty fast and their prices are good,” says Eastside High School sophomore Alexa Ixchop. “The food is really good and is highly recommended.”

Eastside High School senior Michael Ramos says “I like their creative menu like the Tostilocos and the banana split.”

When La Michoacana first opened, it got so popular that customers would have to wait in line for hours. Even now, there can sometimes be a bit of a wait.

“I feel like they take long sometimes because it’s only one person serving at a time,” says Gilbert Gomez. “The order can be for more than one person, and it ends up holding things up.”

La Michoacana is located 805 East Ave K in Lancaster and is open from 11 AM to 10 PM.
