While Eastside has many clubs and activities for students, Link Crew is definitely one of the best! Link Crew is a club that helps freshmen find their way during their first year at Eastside. From going to freshman orientation to getting last semester grades, Link Crew is there to help freshmen out.

At orientation, Link Crew members are put into groups with 8–10 incoming freshmen. Link Crew members walk them around campus, do fun activities and icebreakers, and then end the day with a fun barbeque.

“I was really nervous going to orientation,” says one Eastside freshman who asked to remain anonymous. “When I met my Link Crew leader, she was so excited. She allowed our entire group to feel less intimidated at the idea of starting ninth grade. Now, whenever I’m having a problem on campus with grades or even if I’m sitting alone at lunch, she checks up on me and helps me get through it.”

Link Crew is great for those who want to be more involved in Eastside. Link Crew member and commissioner Presley Marshall says her favorite thing about being in the club is “meeting new friends and being able to help the freshmen.” Link Crew members also plan lunch dances and perform the haunted house during Halloween season. Other upcoming events will be announced soon!

Mrs. Ferguson is the new advisor for Link Crew. When she was asked to take the position, she felt “super excited and honored.” Her favorite part of being in charge of the club is working with the students.

Mrs. Ferguson is currently looking to build her club for next year. If you’re an incoming junior or senior who’s looking to build unforgettable friendship and mentor next year’s incoming students, you can apply to join Link Crew by clicking here or by filling out the applications that are available in the Activities Office. Mrs. Ferguson would love to have you!
