Mr. Gonzalez is a science teacher here at Eastside. He teaches chemistry, applied chemistry, and biotechnology. He is also part of the BioMed program.

Although it is just his second year on campus, many students seem to enjoy his class. He’s quickly becoming known around campus for his humorous personality, his organization, and his great teaching skills.

Mr. Gonzalez helps students feel comfortable in his class by asking about their day and by talking to them.

“He’s a very caring person who is genuinely concerned for our education and future,” says Eastside junior Susan Elizarraraz.

Fellow junior Rebeca Rico agrees. “He is patient with his students,” she says. According to her, Mr. Gonzalez doesn’t want any of his students falling behind. “If you don’t understand the lesson, he will continue to help you understand it.”

We talked to Mr. Gonzalez and asked him why he thinks students enjoy his class. He says, “Students appreciate that I enter an assignment in the grade book every week and that I teach the lessons in like chunks instead of giving really long assignments.”
