PrideSource Celebrates Its 100th Episode

The year was 2016. The date was October 25th.

It’s a date that many Eastside seniors will remember. For the first time since the school’s founding, announcements weren’t being shared via loudspeaker. Instead, teachers showed a YouTube video featuring a puppet lion who’d soon become beloved around campus.

PrideSource was born.

In the three years since, PrideSource’s bizarrely avant-garde style and hilariously random puppets have become a Wednesday tradition, a weekly staple almost as beloved as the abbreviated schedule.

And, now, PrideSource is airing its one hundredth episode. You can check out the video below. First, here are this week’s announcements…

Supplemental Instruction — Juniors and Seniors, do you need to make up credits or improve a grade for A-G? Supplemental Instruction is available now, please come to the School Counseling Office to get an application.

Chess Club — Lions! Do you like chess? Do you want to learn how to play? Stop by the chess club in Mr. Garren’s room, room 147. Still not sure? Follow the Instagram @ehs_chess_club to see what we are all about!

Mock Trial — Hey Lions, interested in law? Mock trial is having meetings every Friday in room 224. Come by to learn what it takes to be an attorney, bailiff, witness, and more.

Eastside’s SAT® Squad — Hey seniors, want to improve your SAT score? There are two ways to get in that extra practice. Eastside will be hosting SAT prep sessions every Saturday from 8am-12pm in rooms 279 and 282, and every Friday in the Library after school. We will have SAT teachers and supports to raise your scores. Don’t miss out on these chances to learn how to crush the SAT!

Drama Season Pass — Do you see every show all year? Get a Drama Season pass for just $20! You can see EVERYTHING!! Afraid of commitment? For just $10 you can get into everything this semester! Buy your Drama Season Pass at the student store TODAY!

Link Crew Presents: Haunted House — Link Crew’s haunted house is coming October 30th and 31st! New…. Improved… and bigger than ever!!! Get ready to be scared!

Overdue Books — All Eastside High School students please start turning in your overdue books or renew them ASAP. Seniors it is that time of year for you. All overdue books are due right now, and overdue textbooks or books may result in loss of Senior Activities. This includes Prom, Grad Nite or even not walking in the Graduation Ceremony. Do not wait until the last minute, there will be no exceptions!

Chalk Walk — Chalk Walk will be held on October 31, 2019 with the theme of Tim Burton style. The cost will be $4 per person. You can sign up at the student store until it is sold out. Please see Mrs. Rivas in room 504 for additional information.
