Eastside High School in the Antelope Valley has a lot of trash. Not much change has been done to help get rid of it.

Litter is identified as waste in the wrong place. In the case of Eastside High School, this trash is harming the students and environment. Students who litter think that someone else will pick up after them. “They need to pick up after themselves because you’re not three,” says Eastside junior Yarie Leal.

It only takes a second to throw trash away. But it takes up to 25 years for gum to decomposes. Imagine how long it would take for all the trash at Eastside to disappear.
