Being a high school senior in a small town can seem kind of suffocating. Since the beginning of this year, high school seniors have been receiving admission decisions. Many of these students now have to choose which college they want to attend, especially with deposits and housing applications due soon.

Picking a college is a very important decision, but there is no need to be too stressed or worried. Just calmly weigh your options, and you will be able to pick the right school for you. Here are three tips to help you decide where you belong.

Look At The Major

“It’s really important to go to a school that offers your major,” says Ms Becaria, a counselor here at school. “See if they have an educational path that’s will get you where you want to be.”

According to Ms. Becaria, it’s important to pick a school with the right programs for you. So, if you’re torn between a few different college, maybe do a little more research into which one has the strongest program for your major.

Don’t Forget About The City

Eastside senior Kassandra Perez has a suggestion to help students deciding between different colleges. “If you don’t like the city, don’t go there,” she says.

Some people like small towns; others prefer big cities. Some people like the beach; others like the forest. It’s not just about the campus, it’s about whether you feel comfortable in the city itself.

Follow Your Gut

As corny as it sounds, your heart probably already knows where you want to be. If your circumstances and finances permit, go where you really want. It’s your future. Go somewhere you love.
