One of the best parts about the transition between Thanksgiving and the Christmas season is the holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas is You.” There are lots of different versions to listen to, but we narrowed it down to three all-time favorite renditions. Find our rankings below.

#3: Michael Buble

Singer Michael Buble is known for his chart-topping album “Christmas” which hit #1 on the Billboard US Album Chart. He provides a serene, emotional, and slower ballad version of the up-tempo song. This version would be perfect for enjoying during a cold December night alone by the fire.

#2 Ariana Grande

For many teens, this is the best-known and most controversial cover of “All I Want For Christmas is You.” Ariana’s version is the most viewed Christmas song on YouTube. Although this version was not recorded in the studio, it does showcase Ariana’s lovely vocals and pays tribute to the original version.

#1: Mariah Carey

The all-time greatest version of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You” would have to be Mariah Carey’s version. She is the creator and original recording artist of this instant Christmas classic.

“My favorite would have to be Mariah Carey,” agrees Eastside senior Janessa Gonzalez. “The way she sings the song, it has the whistle tones and it’s somewhat a unique Christmas song.”

When the song first came out in 1994, the song did not chart on the Billboard Top 100 since the song was not listed as a single. However, it did chart on the Holiday Charts and has charted every year since 2012. The song is currently at number 14 but has climbed as high as 11.

Honorable Mentions: Fifth Harmony’s modern cover, Justin Bieber’s duet with Mariah Carey herself, and Jermaine Dupri and Bow Wow’s RnB/Hip-Hop remix
