A massive year ahead for our members

January is a time for new beginnings and we’re ready to ramp things up even further in 2019.

The hunt for the perfect locations in New York and Singapore continues, and we are exploring every suitable option these cities have to offer. We’ve also added new functionality to the site, introducing same-day booking and a number of other features to make it even more flexible and easier for users to book. This has already led to a steady increase in the number of tech leaders working in our offices and we’re excited for what the year ahead holds for them.

We also held the second Primalbase Academy, with the entire team coming in from across the globe to discuss the 2019 strategy and share new ideas to optimise our offices. Some were interesting, some a bit mad, but they should mean further improvements to the user experience.

We want to enable our community to have the best chance to achieve extraordinary things together.

Finally, we have a busy program of inspiring events lined up for the next year and much more to come by way of developments to our technology and our spaces. Make sure to join us for the ride.

TEAM UPDATES

Warren Seow — Singapore Operations Manager

We are pleased to welcome Warren to our team as our new Singapore Operations Manager. We are going full throttle and will soon unveil plans for our new office there! Warren is a born and bred Singaporean. He has experience in event management, operations and logistics. Warren firmly believes in growth and the power of technology, hence the move into blockchain and corporate real estate. His passions are rugby, basketball, fitness and food. If you ever need a suggestion for lunch or dinner, Warren is more than willing to help. He hopes to bring a little Vitamin H (Hustle) to the team, accompanied by a jovial attitude.

Chaimaa Rochdi — Operations Assistant

Chaimaa is our go-to person for everything in the office — when we need to know where something is or how it works, we ask her! Chaimaa joined Primalbase last December and the place hasn’t been the same since. Her professional background is in customer service and office administration, but outside of work, she is a singer, giving regular concerts in Amsterdam, Haarlem and Utrecht. Born and raised in Morocco, she moved to Amsterdam 3 years ago.

LOCATIONS UPDATES

Primalbase AMS

Primalbase AMS kicked off 2019 with a bang by welcoming the whole international team. Strategy, operations and updates were shared with them, and they will be soon shared with you!

It was a busy office last month, with more and more token holders and leasees coming in to enjoy our office space every day. The meeting room was also booked regularly. If you would like to take advantage and hold a meeting in our space, remember to email amsterdam@primalbase.com and we will be happy to assist you.

Also, a friendly reminder for our token holders with 4PBT or more that we have two 4 seat offices available to you. If you would like to make a reservation, please use our online booking platform.

Primalbase BER

All the languages in our Berlin office

The Berlin office started 2019 with an uplifted vibe, as it warmly welcomed leasees from around the world. We had tech leaders from all corners of the world — Korea, India, Brazil, Ukraine and more.

Several tours were carried out for people who have been interested in renting office spaces. If you are also interested in a tour around the office, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us by filling out the tour request form here.

Furthermore, Berlin Operations Manager, Lars, went to the HQ in Amsterdam to discuss the annual plans for 2019 for the Primalbase Academy. Lars was also at the AraCon conference in Berlin on the 29th and 30th of January — hopefully you got the chance to say hi!

Lastly, our token holders with 4PBT or more are welcome to come and use one of our two 4PBT offices. If you would like to make a reservation, please use our online booking platform!

Primalbase LDN

Sweets and snacks at our London office!

London welcomed several token holders this month to enjoy our beautiful views and get down to work. We have also had a number of enquiries for the private offices and hosted tours to show off all that the London office has to offer.

Our Business Development Manager, Simone and Operations Manager, Jess have also been getting creative with some new design concepts for the various offices and lounges. Watch this space for updates. We love giving each of our offices a distinct and creative finish. If you’re interested in architecture and interior design, give us a follow on Instagram (@primalbase) and satiate your appetite for astounding aesthetics!

Lastly, a reminder that our token holders with 4PBT or more are also welcome to come and use our 4PBT office. If you would like to make a reservation, please use our online booking platform!

Primalbase NYC

Moving forward from December’s setback, we started off January with a positive outlook in our search for a new Primalbase NYC office. CEO Ralph and NYC Ops Manager Hannah viewed a number of locations throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan, and we have submitted offers on somewhere we believe will be a great fit for our community.

Primalbase SGP

Unfortunately, we received some disappointing news about our preferred Singapore property. We put in an offer, but weren’t picked. The office was given to a big law firm, which was already an existing tenant in the building and had a preferred relationship with the landlord. As you can all imagine, this was another setback in our search.

However, it was simply not meant to be and we got right back up and back at it. Together with Warren, we have put a lot of time and effort in viewing different premises, with the focus on the Suntec area, where we found some very interesting and beautiful offices.

Suntec City is a major, multi-use development located in the Marina Centre, a subzone of the Downtown Core in Singapore. It is also one of the largest commercial developments in Singapore, surrounded with large shopping malls. Suntec City Office Towers houses a number of foreign diplomatic/non-diplomatic missions that are resident in Singapore. We will keep you updated with any developments here!

WEB-PRODUCT UPDATES

In January, we increased flexibility for our users by adding new functionality that allows you to book a hot desk on the day you need it. We have also been working on the voting function so our members can contribute to where our future locations will be, the mobile version of the site, and building a number of other prototypes for possible decentralised solutions.

PRIMALBASE COMMUNITY

With everyone coming back from their holidays last month, we spent January preparing a busy program of events to educate and inspire our community in 2019.

First up, we have ConTech and PropTech’s ‘Blockchain & Coworking’ event, set to take place on February 14th. The event will see leading experts from across tech descend on our Primalbase AMS office, exploring how decentralised technologies could transform corporate real estate. Speakers include Eric Thomas, Executive Director at Cushman & Wakefield and Metaprop, and David Duan, DeepBlue Technology, among others.

We currently have no open vacancies at Primalbase, but we still accept open applications. If you identify with our mission and would like to be part of our team, please send an open application to primal@primalbase.com, and remember to keep an eye on our website for future vacancies.
