Primalbase AMS, The Amsterdam Office
The first Primalbase location was unofficially opened earlier this year on Helicopterstraat and served as a proof-of-concept for potential token holders and companies interested in the project. While Primalbase as a concept was intently planned and considered, this microcosm allowed both the public and the team to see how it would function in practice.
A few companies and startup teams worked from this location for several months; their experience in this small ecosystem validated the core concept of the Primalbase project — that collaboration and community fosters creativity and innovation. From here, the search for the official Amsterdam office began.
Primalbase AMS
As the Amsterdam office would not only be the first official Primlabse location but also the headquarters for the entire project, it was important that the location met a number of requirements. The proof-of-concept location had already given us an idea of what we could and wanted to achieve with the space, both in terms of design and layout.
Amsterdam was chosen as the first location and head office because of it undeniable entrepreneurial potential and status as one of the world’s leading technological hubs.
Amsterdam is a city built on the ability of its inhabitants to create favourable conditions in all climates — and this is the crux of business success. We have joined a long line of companies that have set up their headquarters in the Dutch capital, including Netflix, Uber and Tesla.
Grand Opening
Primalbase officially launched on October 12th, 2017 in Amsterdam. The purpose of the launch party was to not only celebrate the first office but to bring together the investors and token holders that would now make up our community.
It was not taken for granted that this opening marked a very rare occasion — the opportunity for investors in blockchain projects to physically see what they had invested in.
Since the opening
In the weeks after the launch party for the Amsterdam office, we welcomed the first token holders to use the office space. Liza, our Operations Manager in Amsterdam, gave them a tour around the office and showed them the beautiful view over the ‘Houthavens’; and Ralph, our CEO, took the time to have a chat with everyone and made himself accessible throughout the day for any questions.
Like with all new ventures, there was some scepticism on our ability to deliver on our promises. However, we have thoroughly enjoyed proving them wrong and will continue to do so. We are fully committed to and invested in doing the best for our token holders, whether it’s the locations and office design or the range of services we provide.
Meet the tenants at Primalbase AMS
Those familiar with the Primalbase project understand our mission: to transform traditional office rental through the creation of a collaborative community, using digital tokens. This next-generation ecosystem consists of like-minded people and companies from the tech and blockchain industry.
Our co-working community also includes a handful of tenants that occupy private offices in each Primalbase location. In our series on Medium “Tenant Talks”, we want to introduce these tenants and their exciting projects.
