She met him over the internet, in an anonymous chat room. Soon enough they fell in love, as is the trend nowadays. An online relationship. The in-thing for today’s generation. But they decided to take it further, because they saw it as true love, to be treasured forever. He swept her off her feet and whisked her away, to a faraway land, away from home. And they got married, away from the prying eyes of they society, where no one would object to her marrying a man her dad’s age. She expected to be happy, because this faraway land was a land of promises and oppurtunities, which she desperately needed. What she wasn’t prepared for were the setbacks. Her husband had divorced his first wife, she was his second. The hostility from his first family made her feel out of place, making her feel like an alien, an outcast. Yet she tried to fit in, to please everybody. When all else failed, she turned once again to the internet. Where she made new friends. One young man intrigued her. Despite the fact that he was younger than her, they bonded well. They fell for each other, despite the fact she was married. And it gave her the much needed respite from boredom. A way to pass her time, even though it meant cheating on her husband. The husband was completely oblivious to this foul play, believing that his young and beautiful wife loved him with all her heart and soul. She filled his whole world, and he held onto that, for he was old and didn’t have much time left. The wife, on the other hand, felt differently. She made herself believe she loved her husband, but behind the shadows the game continued. Leading her way by pride and arrogance, she scoffed at her friends who tried to make her see reason, trying to lure her away from this deceitful unethical game. She didn’t want to listen, because she was having her time, two sources complimenting each other. The warm love of old age vs the lustful passion of youth. In her heart she knew it was wrong, so she tried to atone for her sins by devoting herself to the higher power, when in reality she was more than content playing the devil’s game.
