If any use to anyone, here is a pdf of the Bamboo Paper notebook I’ve made for modelling arrays, grid method, expanded written method and written method of multiplication, and arrays and written method of division with my Year 3 class. The idea is that as we discuss each area over the unit, I’ll print out and display a growing timeline of our learning in the classroom (taken from Mike Askew’s excellent Transforming Primary Mathematics, in turn borrowed from Japan).

If people find it useful I’ll continue to share as I build more notebooks. It’s based on Teaching Guide from Rising Stars Mathematics, which we are a training school for.
