In a world without live sports to watch, The Last Dance documentary about Michael Jordan and the 90’s Chicago Bulls is a much-needed distraction and a great reminder of what it takes to be a winner. Here are my 23 takeaways from the series:

  1. Only the people who want to win can win
  2. And you have to really really want it
  3. And you’ll need a great team that wants to win with you
  4. One talent wins some, teamwork and intelligence win it all
  5. Hard work beats natural talent
  6. Encourage your team to get on your level
  7. You can use anger as fuel for motivation
  8. Find a rival to keep you going
  9. Set sky-high goals
  10. And never give up
  11. A great coach makes the difference
  12. Find your best version and free it
  13. Be patient and wait for the right moment
  14. Be present and keep it pure
  15. Practice is where the magic happens
  16. Respect each other
  17. Show results to get people to believe in you
  18. Know your strengths and use them
  19. It’s not a job when you do things you love — it’s your soul
  20. The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory
  21. Follow your heart and it will bring you to unexpected places
  22. No one knows when it will be their last dance
  23. So always dance like it’s your last
