Many people know him with the name of Cristiano Ronaldo but his full name is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro. He was born on 5th February 1985. Although he plays for Portugal he was born in a town called Funchal in Madeira, an island near Portugal. As Madeira does not have a national football team Madeiran players play for Portugal. With his national team Ronaldo won the Euro Cup of 2016. On a personal level he has also won 4 Ballon d’Ors. He started his career with Madeira FC, the best football club in Madeira. Scouts from SCP Sporting Lisbon noticed his talent and at just 12 years of age he was heading to the capital city of Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut at just seventeen years of age with Sporting Lisbon and then played a blinder in a friendly against Manchester United. He was so good that the United players urged their manager Sir Alex Ferguson to buy him. And he did.

On 16th August 2003 Ronaldo made his debut for Manchester United in a 4–0 win against Bolton Wanderers. During his time at Manchester United he scored 118 goals in 292 matches. He helped the Red Devils win 1 Champions League,3 Premier LeagueTitles,1 FA Cup,2 EFL Cups and 1 Community Shield.

In the summer of 2009 Ronaldo joined Real Madrid where he has won at least one trophy per season. Up till now he collected 3 Champions Leagues medals,2 La Liga titles,2 Copa Del Reys and 2 FIFA Club World Cups.

Will he remain at Real Madrid for long ? Speculation is rife about a possible exit from the Bernabeu, but this remains to be seen.
