[Notice] A complete revamp of the PRISM PC app.
Hi, this is the PRISM Live Studio team. We’re working on a major revamp of the PRISM PC app and wanted to give you a sneak peek :D
PRISM PC App Reorganization
Scheduled for release in July
Release date may change due to internal circumstances
Currently, the PRISM Windows development team is undergoing a complete revamp of the PRISM PC. As hinted in the expression of PC reorganization, this reorganization will support Mac apps as well as Windows apps.
We have named this major reorganization the PRISM PC V4 version, and we will briefly explain the main contents!
PRISM PC V4 has 4 major changes:
• Engine upgrade based on OBS-29
• Release of PRISM Cam
• Support of Mac OS
• Improved user interface
★ Engine upgrade based on OBS-29
We’ve heard from many of you that the PRISM Windows app is really easy and comfortable to use, but it seems to use a bit too much of your device’s resources.
Accordingly, we have continuously improved the performance of the app and continuously tuned it to use less device resources, but it is true that there were many difficulties.
Therefore, we decided that upgrading the engine based on OBS-29 would be a more effective way to apply to the PRISM PC V4 app.
This provides the following additional advantages:
1) Support for all functions of OBS
2) Improved app stability and performance
3) Support of various OBS plugins
4) Support of HDR live streaming
★ Release of PRISM Cam
The PRISM Live Studio app will be split into two apps.
One is PRISM Live Studio for live streaming and the other is PRISM Cam for camera effects.
In other words, special functions related to camera effects provided in the existing PRISM Live Studio app are separately gathered and released as the PRISM Cam app.
In the PRISM Cam app, you can use the beauty and virtual background features we provide in other broadcasting programs and video conferencing programs other than the PRISM app.
In addition, we plan to upgrade the camera effect and provide more diverse functions such as face recognition sticker effect and virtual makeup effects.
Face recognition sticker is a feature already provided in the PRISM mobile app, and you can try it yourself there!
★ Support of Mac OS
Support for Mac OS was the most common feedback sent to the PRISM Live Studio Windows team. We have been thinking and preparing for a long time, and finally Mac OS will be supported in PRISM PC V4 :D
PRISM Live Studio for live streaming and PRISM Cam for camera effects will be supported on Mac OS as well as on Windows OS.
Unfortunately, however, the release of the PRISM Mac V4 app is expected to be released somewhat later than the Windows PRISM V4 app, so we hope for your patience with this.
★ Improved user interface
Thankfully, the PRISM Live Studio Windows app has been praised by many people for its convenient and easy interface that differentiates it from other PC streaming tools.
Nevertheless, we have been constantly thinking about a better user interface, and we plan to provide an improved user interface with all of our efforts in line with this big reorganization named V4.
Representatively, there are changes such as a larger preview screen area. Please wait a little longer and you’ll see the amazing new changes soon. :)
In fact, this PC app revamp did not start now, but preparations began in the second half of last year, and development began from the beginning of the year.
As a result, the update of the PRISM Windows app currently in service was inevitably delayed, and response to unexpected issues such as Twitch login issues was also delayed, causing a lot of inconvenience to users. =[
